Russo Balt automobiles being built in Riga in 1910-1915 were equipped with locally produced PROWODNIK tyres , and this fact deserves some more details to be told , especially because we were requested to assist with Prowodnik tyre design recreation by Riga Motor Museum restoration team of Gunars Dortans and Janis Priede .

Riga Motor Museum Collection has one of the only two surviving Russo Balt automobiles in the world , and right now works are conducted to restore original PROWODNIK tyres for this antique automobile .
The second surviving Russo Balt car resides in Moscow Polytechnical Museum .

Quest for original parts that belonged to RussoBalt automobiles led Latvian restoration team of Gunars Dortans and Janis Priede to discover the only two original surviving PROWODNIK  tyres in the world today .

This was possible because of Estonian member of Riga Antique Automobile Club , who used a pair of these tyres for his 1900s vintage motorcycle , which he used to ride to annual Club Rallies all through 1970s ...... more than half a century old tyres were still in use !!!

Links below will show the strory of the PROWODNIK tyre production in Riga , the surviving tyres and the recreated design .
Hopefully , eventually restored PROWODNIK tyres on Russo Balt Fire automobile in Riga Motor Museum  will top the restoration quest of
Gunars Dortans and Janis Priede .
